5 injured after nitric acid spill in New Zealand's Christchurch

WELLINGTON, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Five people were injured and received treatment after a nitric acid spill occurred on Wednesday in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The 1,000 liters of nitric acid was spilt in the Christchurch suburb of Middleton, and it has been contained in about three hours.

Fire and Emergency crews worked to clean up the mess by applying a neutralizing agent, and ambulance teams treated the five people inhalation at the scene. Enditem
