AMMAN, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Wednesday condemned Israeli settlement activities, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The ministry's spokesperson Daifallah Fayez said such activities represent flagrant violation of international law and undermine chances for peace and two-state solution.
The spokesperson also urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and exert pressure on Israel to halt its settlement policy.
Earlier in the day, the Israeli public radio reported that the Israeli government agreed to build 2,572 new settlement units in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Enditem
