German shares close flat Thursday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 14.70 points, or 0.11 percent, to close at 13,906.67 points.

Aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero, falling by 4.63 percent, was the top loser among the blue chips. It was followed by the reinsurance company Munich Re and multinational chemical firm Linde, which lost 1.81 percent and 1.64 percent respectively.

European multinational online food-delivery service Delivery Hero gained 3.58 percent, becoming the top gainer. Automotive manufacturers Volkswagen and Daimler advanced 2.80 percent and 1.95 percent respectively.

Volkswagen was the most traded share with a turnover of 331.63 million euros (403.20 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 7.95 percent to close at 2.499 euros per share on Thursday. Enditem
