TUNIS, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Tunisian health ministry received on Friday a batch of U.S. aid which included prevention equipment against the COVID-19.

The Charge d'affaires of the U.S. Embassy to Tunisia, Gregory LoGerfo, said at a press conference held on the occasion at the ministry's headquarters that this aid is intended for medical and paramedical staff working at the hospitals of Ben Gardane in Medenine province and the hospitals of Remada in Tataouine province.

The American diplomat recalled that hospitals in Tabarka, Kef and Kairouan had benefited from similar aid as part of the previous tranche of the support for Tunisia to deal with the coronavirus.

"The implementation of this program illustrates the development of the level of cooperation between the two countries," he added. Enditem
