New Zealand reports 8 new cases of COVID-19

WELLINGTON, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand reported eight new cases of COVID-19 in managed isolation facilities in two days, said the Ministry of Health in a statement on Sunday.

The ministry was also investigating a positive test result in a person who had departed from a managed isolation and quarantine facility, said the ministry.

The last media statement by the ministry was on Friday.

The total number of active cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand is 79 and the total number of confirmed cases reached 1,927, said the ministry.

The total number of tests processed by New Zealand laboratories to date was 1,487,234. Enditem
