SINGAPORE, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.6 percent, or 17.88 points, to close at 2,973.65.
A total of 3.45 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.34 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.01 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 269 to 220.
The STI index went down 0.85 percent, or 25.62 points, to close at 2,991.53 on Friday. Enditem
