TEHRAN, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Monday that Iran welcomes Azerbaijan's six-nation cooperation initiative aimed at regional peace and stability, Tasnim news agency reported.

Iran is ready for help and cooperation in any field contributing to regional peace and stability, Zarif said in his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Azerbaijan's capital Baku.

The six-nation initiative, put forward recently by the presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan, would include Iran, Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia for regional peace and development cooperation.

He announced Iran's interest in the exports of technical and engineering services to Azerbaijan, as well as their cooperation in electricity and energy industries, agriculture, extra-territorial cultivation, mine-sweeping, and reconstruction of mosques and historical sites.

Zarif arrived in Baku on Monday on the first leg of his tour to the Caucasus countries and Turkey. Enditem
