LONDON, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.84 percent, or 56.22 points, to close at 6,638.85 points.
Reckitt Benckiser Group, a British multinational consumer goods company, soared 4.46 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Ocado Group and Severn Trent increased by 2.38 percent and 2.18 percent, respectively.
International Consolidated Airlines Group, an Anglo-Spanish multinational airline holding company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 7.65 percent. Melrose Industries, a London-based company that specialises in buying and improving underperforming businesses, dropped 5.56 percent.
