NEW YORK -- Global COVID-19 cases surpassed 100 million on Tuesday, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

WASHINGTON -- Janet Yellen was sworn in Tuesday as the 78th Secretary of the U.S. Treasury Department, becoming the first woman to hold the position.

JERUSALEM -- Israel said on Tuesday that an Israeli ministerial delegation arrived quietly in Sudan's capital Khartoum, marking the first official Israeli visit to the Arab country in North Africa.

DAMASCUS -- At least three civilians were killed on Tuesday by an explosion in a rebel-held area in the northern Syrian province of Raqqa, a war monitor reported.
