LONDON, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.63 percent, or 41.22 points, to close at 6,526.15 points.
Fresnillo, a Mexican-based precious metals mining company, soared 6.36 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. International Consolidated Airlines Group and Glencore increased by 4.75 percent and 4.58 percent, respectively.
Prudential, a British multinational life insurance and financial services company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 7.83 percent.
