LONDON, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.06 percent, or 4.10 points, to close at 6,503.72 points.
Lloyds Banking Group, a major British financial institution, soared 5.65 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. NatWest Group and Compass Group increased by 5.54 percent and 4.45 percent, respectively.
Unilever, a British-Dutch transnational consumer goods company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 6.20 percent.
