BEIRUT, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese embassy in Lebanon celebrated the Chinese Spring Festival by holding a concert which was broadcasted on Tele Liban, Lebanon's national TV channel.

Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian said that the Spring Festival, for the Chinese, is an occasion for family reunions but many people this year cannot gather with family or friends due to the COVID-19.

"This pandemic has proven once again that humanity is linked to a common destiny, and humanity can only deal with the common challenges through solidarity, cooperation and mutual aid," the ambassador was quoted as saying in a statement released by the embassy.

Wang said on the occasion that ties between Lebanon and China have been developing steadily for the past 50 years.

China has started building the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music in Dbayeh. It has also offered help to Lebanon's anti-coronavirus fight, including the donation of medical equipment. Enditem
