KABUL -- Two people including a university lecturer were killed in a bomb attack outside Kabul University in the Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday, police said.

The explosion occurred at around 11:25 a.m. local time near the gate of Kabul University which is located in Police District 3 of the capital city. A sedan car was struck and destroyed by the blast, Kabul police spokesman Ferdaus Faramarz told reporters via a text message. (Afghanistan-Bomb)

KABUL -- The World Bank has approved 97.5 million U.S. dollars in grant for Afghanistan to combat the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and droughts in the war-torn Asian country, the World Bank office in Afghanistan said in a statement reaching here Thursday.

NEW DELHI -- A local minister in India's eastern state of West Bengal was wounded along with some of his supporters in a bomb attack at a railway station, police said Thursday.

According to the local police, the local government minister, Jakir Hossain, was targeted on Wednesday night when he was walking to catch a train at the Nimtita railway station in Murshidabad district, about 270 km north of Kolkata, the capital city of West Bengal. (India-Local minister-Bomb)
