TEHRAN -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday that Iran will increase its uranium enrichment with the change of the country's needs, official IRNA news agency reported.

"Iran will not stay limited to a (uranium) enrichment of 20 percent. There is the possibility of increasing enrichment up to 60 percent in accordance with the country's needs," Khamenei said. (Iran-Uranium enrichment)

GAZA -- The Hamas-run health ministry launched a vaccination campaign in the Gaza Strip on Monday, to inoculate medical staff who have been in the forefront of the fight against the coronavirus.

Those who are vulnerable to the virus, especially the elderly as well as patients with chronic diseases, will also be vaccinated, Ashraf al-Qidra, spokesman of the ministry, said at a press conference held in Gaza city. (Gaza-Vaccination)

CAIRO -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and visiting Commander of U.S. Central Command Kenneth McKenzie discussed on Monday ways to strengthen cooperation in the military, security and anti-terrorism fields.

During a meeting in Cairo, Sisi and McKenzie also discussed joint military training programs and the exchange of experience, the presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement. (Egypt-U.S.)

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi Ministry of Industry and Minerals revealed on Monday that it has been working under a three-stage plan to reopen 83 devastated factories, an official news agency said.

Murtadha al-Safi, spokesman of the ministry, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the year-long first stage of the plan includes reopening 17 factories that were either devastated or abandoned by wars and chaos that engulfed the country after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.
