Pakistani PM embarks on two-day Sri Lanka visit

ISLAMABAD, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan left for Sri Lanka on Tuesday on a two-day official visit on the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart, the Prime Minister Office of Pakistan said.

A statement from the prime minister office said that Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industry and Production, and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari are accompanying the prime minister.

This is Khan's first visit to Sri Lanka after assuming office in August 2018, according to the statement.

Khan will lead the delegation-level talks, covering all areas of cooperation between the two countries such as trade and investment, health, education, agriculture, science and technology, the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan said earlier, adding that views will also be exchanged on key regional and international issues.
