ANKARA, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Turkish foreign minister on Tuesday offered a project for carrying Turkmen gas to Europe via Turkish territory.

"We are ready to do our part for the arrival of Turkmen gas to Turkey and reach Europe through Turkey," Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a joint press conference with his Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.

Cavusoglu stated that two ministers also signed the 2021-2022 Cooperation Program between Turkey and Turkmenistan.

"We want to launch negotiations on preferential trade agreements as soon as possible," Cavusoglu stated.

Turkey wants to develop relations with the entire region, the minister said, noting that Ankara has also welcomed the consensus reached between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on the Caspian Sea.

For his part, Meredov said that they discussed strengthening bilateral relations and have worked on a roadmap of this cooperation. Enditem
