Swedish food courts can serve only solo guests under new restrictions

STOCKHOLM, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- In an attempt to minimize crowds in shopping malls and department stores, the Swedish Public Health Agency has decided to impose restrictions on cafes and restaurants in food courts starting Monday. They are only allowed to serve guests who arrive alone.
The restrictions are introduced because food court restaurants are seen as a high-risk environment, Jon Pelling, press secretary at the Public Health Agency, told Xinhua.
"We do not want people to visit shopping malls for purposes other than shopping. They are not meant to function as lounges where you meet others," Pelling said.
The new restrictions only apply to establishments that don't have their own separate entrance. Guests who arrive with a child in need of assistance are exempt from the new rule.
The decision came only two days after the government announced that all restaurants -- except takeaway places -- have to close by 8:30 p.m. Enditem
