MEXICO CITY, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Argentine forward Mauro Quiroga scored a late goal to earn Pachuca a 2-2 draw at Necaxa in the Liga MX Clausura on Thursday.

Alejandro Zendejas put the hosts ahead in the sixth minute but Roberto Nurse drew Pachuca level with a 20th-minute strike.

Maxi Salas restored Necaxa's lead just after halftime before Quiroga's 85th-minute equalizer.

The result at Estadio Victoria was not enough to lift Pachuca off the bottom of the 18-team standings. The Tuzos have just four points from their opening nine matches while Necaxa is 16th with seven points.

In Thursday's only other match, Pumas UNAM secured a 1-0 home win over Santos Laguna, thanks to a 70th-minute strike from Juan Dinenno. Enditem
