SINGAPORE, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 1.9 percent, or 57.31 points, to close at 3,071.16.
A total of 2.07 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.91 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.42 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 275 to 237.
The STI index went down 0.03 percent, or 0.93 points, to close at 3,013.85 on last Friday. Enditem
