NICOSIA, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Cyprus announced on Friday the completion of a multi-national military exercise.

According to a statement by the country's Ministry of Defense, the exercise, code named "Noble Dina 2021," was held in an area off the west shores of Cyprus from March 7 to 11.

The participation of the units and personnel in the exercise "was considered as especially successful as it provided a substantial and practical possibility of operational co-training ... in the context of the cooperation with forces of neighboring and friendly nations in the region of eastern Mediterranean," the statement said.

It added that Cyprus participated with offshore patrol vessel Commodore Andreas Ioannides, a National Guard AW-139 helicopter and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC).

The Defense Ministry said the exercise included advanced manoeuvers and formations, escorting, tactical game, anti-submarine warfare and aeronautical cooperation, as well as a search and rescue exercise coordinated by the JRCC. Enditem
