WINDHOEK, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Namibia is preparing for the upcoming Africa Cup of indoor hockey slated for April 15-18 in Durban, South Africa, President of Namibia Hockey Union (NHU) Marc Nel said Tuesday.
Nel told the media that the men's and women's national teams have already started training.
"We are going there to compete and not just to participate. Our men's team is going to play two-test series against South Africa in Johannesburg," said Nel.
Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC), the main sponsor for Namibia hockey, has contributed three million Namibian dollars (200,000 U.S. dollars) to the team.
John Ekongo, MTC's corporate affairs manager, said that he wants the two teams to go out and do their best. Enditem
