Indonesia reports 4,396 new COVID-19 cases, 103 new deaths

JAKARTA, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's Health Ministry on Sunday reported 4,396 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 for the past 24 hours, bringing the country's total tally to 1,460,184.

The COVID-19 related death toll rose to 39,550 including 103 new deaths recorded during the same period, according to it.

The ministry said 6,065 more patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries from the coronavirus epidemic in the Southeast Asian country to 1,290,790.

The coronavirus has spread to all the country's 34 provinces.

Specifically, in the past 24 hours, Jakarta recorded 1,638 new confirmed cases, West Java 517, East Java 292, South Kalimantan 228 and East Kalimantan 218.

No new infections were detected in the two provinces of Aceh and North Maluku. Enditem
