KABUL, March 24 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 people were killed in insurgent activities and conflicts in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, according to a local independent war monitoring group early Wednesday.

"During the past 24 hours, our team has documented 11 deaths, including nine civilians, one member of Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), and one militant of Taliban militant group," Reduction in Violence (RiV) group said on the social media platform twitter.

The casualties observed came from four violent incidents that took place in four of the Asian country's 34 provinces, according to the RiV figures.

Sporadic clashes and fighting occur in countryside as Taliban militants have been attempting to take territory and consolidate their positions. Enditem
