SOFIA, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria and Israel won all the gold medals at the first event of this year's FIG World Cup circuit in rhythmic gymnastics, which ended here on Sunday.

The hosts totally dominated the group competition. After winning the all-around event on Saturday, Bulgaria took the gold medals in the two apparatus finals on Sunday -- those in five balls, and three hoops and two pairs of clubs.

In the individual event, Boryana Kaleyn of Bulgaria swept the gold medals in the hoop, clubs and ribbon competitions, while the all-around gold medalist Linoy Ashram of Israel won the ball title.

As many as 60 individual gymnasts and 11 groups from 35 countries and regions participated in the three-day event, which serves as an Olympic qualifier for individual gymnasts, along with the World Cups to come in Tashkent of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan's Baku and Pesaro in Italy.

In June, Bulgaria will host another Olympic qualification in this sport -- the 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships, which will take place in the seaside city of Varna. Enditem
