SINGAPORE, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.56 percent, or 17.62 points, to close at 3,175.57.
A total of 1.76 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.41 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.05 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 277 to 252.
The STI index went up 0.52 percent, or 16.24 points, to close at 3,157.95 on last Friday. Enditem
