Afghanistan reports 81 new COVID-19 cases, tally at 56,676

KABUL, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan reported 81 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising its national tally to 56,676, including 2,337 active cases, the country's Ministry of Public Health said.

"Laboratories conducted 1,190 tests during the past 24 hours, out of the total tests 81 were positive COVID-19 cases in seven provinces of Afghanistan's 34 provinces," the ministry said in a statement.

Meanwhile, two people recovered and no deaths were reported during the cited period and the death toll stands at 2,497, according to the statement.

Laboratories across Afghanistan have completed over 352,000 tests since the outbreak of the pandemic in February last year. Enditem
