2 killed, 15 missing in ship collision in waters off Indonesia's West Java

JAKARTA, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and 15 others went missing after a fishing ship collided with a cargo ship in the waters off Indonesia's western West Java province, a search and rescue official in province Seni Wulandari said on Sunday.

The incident occurred when the MV Barokah Jaya ship and the MV Habco Pioneer ship collided in the waters off Indramayu district a day earlier, the officer said.

Two rescue ships, rigid inflatable boats (RIB) and hundreds of personnel of search and rescue offices have been deployed in the search and rescue operation, she told Xinhua via phone.

Search for the victims is being carried out in the areas around the scene, the officer said.

The operation has recovered two bodies of the victims and rescued 15 others, she added. Enditem
