SINGAPORE, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.88 percent, or 28.06 points, to close at 3,209.74.
A total of 2.59 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.13 billion Singapore dollars (about 740.74 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 338 to 115.
The STI index went up 0.52 percent, or 16.34 points, to close at 3,181.68 last Thursday.
Trading on last Friday was halted due to Good Friday. Enditem
