JALALABAD, Afghanistan -- At least two civilians were killed as well as 15 other civilians and three police officers wounded in a roadside bomb explosion in Jalalabad city, capital of Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday, a local source said.

The blast occurred when an improvised bomb planted on road traffic divider was detonated via a time device in Police District 2, roughly at 6:00 a.m. local time, the source told Xinhua anonymously. (Afghanistan-Explosion)

NEW DELHI -- A total of 115,736 new COVID-19 cases were registered in the past 24 hours in India, said official data released by the federal health ministry on Wednesday.

TALUQAN, Afghanistan -- Six Afghan soldiers and eight militants were killed as Taliban militants stormed a military camp located in Ishkamish district in Afghanistan's northern Takhar province on Tuesday night, a local source said on Wednesday.

The clash erupted at midnight when the armed militants taking motorcycles to travel from nearby mountains attacked the joint Afghan security forces operating base near the district's bazaar and government offices, Abdul Raziq from Afghan army's 217 Pamir Corps told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Clash)

PHNOM PENH -- A 14-day ban on travel between provinces started in Cambodia on Wednesday in a bid to stem the spread of COVID-19.

The ban took effect from April 7 with the exception for vehicles transporting goods, officials, healthcare workers, armed forces members and patients, Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said in a decision on late Tuesday. (Cambodia-Travel Ban) Enditem
