ULAN BATOR, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia registered 575 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the national tally to 12,226, the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said Wednesday.

Four more deaths and 185 more recoveries were reported, taking the nationwide counts to 21 and 6,912 respectively, the center said.

Mongolia has been fighting against the pandemic since March 2020.

The Asian country launched a national vaccination campaign in late February, with the aim of vaccinating at least 60 percent of its population. Around 467,000 people have been vaccinated in the country so far. Enditem
