WINDHOEK, April 7 (Xinhua) -- The Namibia government on Wednesday launched an agency for tax assessment and state revenue collection after years of postponements.

Launching the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA), Namibian President Hage Geingob said that the agency will go a long way to improve revenue collection and infrastructure development.

"The public expects NamRA to be an exemplary institution that will foster a fine balance between economic growth and trade functions as well as providing tax services to all taxpayers," he said.

According to NamRA's website, the agency is established as a semi-autonomous revenue agency under the supervision and direction of the Minister of Finance. Enditem
