BEIJING, April 8 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

RABAT -- Morocco announced on Wednesday 663 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally in the North African country to 499,688.

The total number of recoveries from COVID-19 in Morocco increased to 486,349 after 641 more were added.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand on Thursday reported a new border-related COVID-19 case who was a worker at a quarantine facility.

The worker at the Grand Millennium managed isolation facility in Auckland returned a positive swab after being tested on Tuesday, Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield told a press conference.

TUNIS -- Tunisian authorities on Wednesday announced new measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.

"Tunisian authorities have decided to impose a night curfew nationwide between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. local time, starting from April 9 to April 30," Hasna Ben Slimane, spokesperson of the Tunisian government, said in a press briefing.

BEIJING -- The Chinese mainland on Wednesday reported 11 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases in Yunnan Province, the National Health Commission said Thursday.

The same day also saw 13 new imported cases on the mainland, the commission said in its daily report.

BOGOTA -- Colombia registered 11,381 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, taking its nationwide tally to 2,479,617, the ministry of health and social protection said Wednesday.

The country also reported 243 more deaths, raising the national death toll to 64,767, said the ministry. Enditem
