The statement said that security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Ladha area of South Waziristan district in the province on the reported presence of terrorists.
During intense exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed, the military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations said in the statement.
The killed terrorist was an active member of the TTP, who remained involved in terrorist activities against security forces, according to the statement.
Pakistan has conducted a series of military operations against terrorist groups in South Waziristan that borders Afghanistan.
Although the area has mostly been pacified, remnants of terrorist groups still manage to launch attacks on security forces sporadically. Enditem
