SEOUL, April 14 (Xinhua) -- South Korea added 314,000 jobs in March from a year earlier, marking a first increase in 13 months, statistical office data showed Wednesday.
The employed people in the Asian country totaled 26,923,000 in March, up by 314,000 from a year earlier, according to Statistics Korea. It was the first rebound since February last year.
The OECD-method employment rate for those aged 15-64 stood at 65.7 percent in March, up 0.3 percentage points from a year ago.
The number of those unemployed rose 36,000 year on year to 1,215,000 in March. Jobless rate rose 0.1 percentage point to 4.3 percent last month.
The number of economically inactive population, who had no willingness to seek a job and remained unemployed, came in at 16,869,000 in March, down 54,000 from a year earlier. Enditem
