BRATISLAVA, April 14 (Xinhua) -- HC Slovan Bratislava rallied to win a 3-2 away victory over HKM Zvolen on Wednesday, tying the semifinal playoffs of the Slovak ice hockey premiership Tipos Extraliga 1-1.

It's another nail-biting show after Game 1 as the visitors scored a golden goal only four seconds before the end of overtime.

Zvolen produced numerous chances, including a powerplay, in the overtime, but the visiting Latvian goalie Kristers Gudlevskis, who finished the night with 49 saves, defused all of them.

Just as the semifinal series was heading for another penalty shootout, Slovan's Canadian forward Brendan O'Donnell capitalized on his effort in front of the home team's goal and nudged the puck in four seconds before the end of OT, setting the final score to 3-2.

The first period was solely under the control of both goalies as none of them let a puck slip behind their backs. Zvolen forward Juraj Mikus was very close to opening the score, but his powerplay goal came one second after the first horn signaled the end of the period.

Early in the second period, Zvolen got to celebrate at last when Peter Zuzin intercepted the puck near Slovan's goal and had no trouble scoring from between the circles with a wrist shot. Towards the end of the period, his Canadian teammate Allan McPherson stretched the lead to 2-0 on a fastbreak chance.

Zvolen remained dangerous in the third period but wasted several solid opportunities, including one breakaway. On the other hand, Bratislava converted on two powerplays, with its Canadian forward Brendan Ranford scoring on both occasions, tying the game at 2-2 and forcing overtime.

The series will continue on Saturday. Enditem
