German shares gain 1.34 pct Friday

FRANKFURT, April 16 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 204.42 points, or 1.34 percent, to close at 15,459.75 points.

Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.26 percent. Material manufacturer Covestro and automotive supplier Continental gained 3.07 percent and 2.92 percent respectively.

Deutsche Boerse group and reinsurance company Munich Re were the only two losers among the blue chips, down by 0.57 percent and 0.23 percent respectively.

Siemens was the most-traded share, with a turnover of 418.66 million euros (501.81 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 1.74 percent to close at 1.950 euros per share. Enditem
