BRATISLAVA, April 17 (Xinhua) -- After losing their respective quarterfinals openers, both BKM Lucenec and BC Prievidza managed to rally on home court and tie the best-of-three series in the Slovak basketball premiership SBL on Saturday.

Lucenec edged out Inter Bratislava by only two points 69-67 and Prievidza dominated the duel against Iskra Svit 98-82.

With only two victories being enough to advance to the playoff semifinals, both Lucenec and Prievidza were under immense pressure to keep the season going. And both succeeded in leveling their respective series.

After Inter Bratislava dominated Game 1, BKM Lucenec returned the favor and after an evenly matched first half built a solid lead in the second which rose to 16 points in the final period. Inter tried to mount a comeback and almost succeeded, cutting Lucenec's lead to just 2 points in the final moments. The home team's American guard Dominique Hawkins dominated the scoring department with 31 points.

BC Prievidza was close to victory in Game 1, forcing overtime on Svit's court with a buzzer-beater but fell short in the end by three points. On home court, it was a whole different story in Game 2. Prievidza dominated the first half with a score of 55-38 and did not allow Svit to get back into the game. Enditem
