BUENOS AIRES, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Former Manchester United, Manchester City, and Juventus forward Carlos Tevez provided two assists as Boca Juniors beat Atletico Tucuman 3-1 in Argentina's Primera Division here on Saturday.

Teenager Cristian Medina gave the hosts the lead in the fifth minute with a low finish after a superb one-touch pass from Tevez.

The 37-year-old then used the outside of his right boot to curl a pass into the path of Colombia international winger Villa, who rounded goalkeeper Cristian Lucchetti before netting his fourth goal of the campaign.

Leonardo Heredia headed in for the visitors in the 22nd minute but their hopes faded when Cristian Erbes was sent off for a second rash challenge within six minutes.

Franco Soldano put the result beyond doubt by thumping in a close-range shot after Carlos Izquierdoz's header rebounded off the bar.

Boca is now second in the 13-team Group B standings, six points behind leaders Velez Sarsfield. Atletico Tucuman is ninth, 10 points off the pace.

In other matches on Saturday, Sarmiento won 1-0 at home to Lanus, Argentinos Juniors drew 1-1 at San Lorenzo and Newell's Old Boys secured a 2-0 home win over Patronato. Enditem
