Pakistan to provide business-friendly environment to investors: PM

ISLAMABAD, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Monday reiterated the intention of his government to provide business-friendly environment to investors to attract the much-needed foreign direct investment.

Khan made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of leading Russian businessmen who have shown a great interest in investing in various projects in Pakistan, according to a statement from the Prime Minister Office.

During the meeting, increased cooperation between Russia and Pakistan in large scale manufacturing, railways and energy sector was discussed in detail, said the statement.

The two sides agreed upon expediting the projects that are already in the pipeline.

Federal ministers of relevant Pakistani ministries and other senior government officials also attended the meeting.

Earlier in April, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov paid a visit to Pakistan, and the two sides agreed to strengthen bilateral ties and deepen cooperation. Enditem
