HOUSTON, April 20 (Xinhua) -- The American Petroleum Institute (API) on Tuesday reported an increase of 436,000 barrels of crude oil in the U.S. crude oil inventories for the week ending April 16.
API reported a decrease of 3.608 million barrels of crude oil inventories for the previous week ending April 9 while the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported a fall of 5.9 million barrels.
Oil prices fell on Tuesday as demand worries returned to the market.
The West Texas Intermediate for May delivery lost 94 cents to settle at 62.44 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for June delivery decreased 48 cents to close at 66.57 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange. Enditem
