BERLIN, April 21 (Xinhua) -- German stocks recorded small gains at the start of trading on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index rising by 50.4 points, or 0.33 percent, opening at 15,179.91 points.
The biggest winner among Germany's 30 largest listed companies at the start of trading was chipmaker Infineon, increasing by 1.76 percent, followed by Deutsche Bank with 1.35 percent and carmaker Daimler with 0.91 percent.
On Wednesday, British investment bank Barclays raised its price target for Deutsche Bank from 9.50 to 10 euros (11.4 to 12 U.S. dollars) and left the rating at "Equal Weight." Shares of the German financial institute were trading slightly above 10 euros at the start of trading on Wednesday.
Shares of Vonovia fell by 0.52 percent. The German housing company was the biggest loser at the start of trading on Wednesday.
The yield on German 10-year bonds increased 0.0075 percentage points to minus 0.2505 percent and the euro was trading almost unchanged at 1.2037 dollars, increasing by 0.01 percent on Wednesday morning. Enditem
