Cambodia confirms 303 new local COVID-19 cases, 5 more fatalities

PHNOM PENH, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia on Wednesday logged 303 new local cases of COVID-19 and five more deaths in the last 24 hours, the country's Ministry of Health (MoH) said in a statement.

The new cases included 248 in capital Phnom Penh, 26 in Kandal province, 19 in Preah Sihanouk province, eight in Takeo province and two in Kampot province, the statement said.

The Southeast Asian nation also saw the recovery of 239 COVID-19 patients, it added.

Since the start of the pandemic, Cambodia has officially reported a total of 7,747 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 54 deaths, the MoH said, adding that there are currently 4,893 active cases in the kingdom. Enditem
