FRANKFURT, April 21 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged up on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 66.46 points, or 0.44 percent, to close at 15,195.97 points.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer gained the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.16 percent. European health care company Fresenius SE and multinational chemical firm Linde added 3.07 percent and 1.77 percent respectively.
Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen lost the most among the blue chips, falling 2.41 percent. Housing association Vonovia and energy group RWE went down by 1.64 percent and 1.48 percent respectively.
Volkswagen was the most-traded share with a turnover of 375.74 million euros (451.15 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 0.89 percent to close at 1.900 euros per share on Wednesday. Enditem
