JAKARTA -- The leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries reached a five-point consensus Saturday on the situation in Myanmar, calling for "constructive dialogue" among all parties concerned.

JAKARTA -- Indonesian searchers have found debris believed to be from the missing submarine in waters off Bali Island, Indonesian Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Yudo Margono said on Saturday.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia closed all state-run and unregulated markets in capital Phnom Penh for 14 days starting Saturday in an ongoing effort to contain a surge in new COVID-19 cases.

BANGKOK -- Thailand on Saturday broke another daily record with 2,839 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total caseload to 53,022, as the country strives to contain its most severe coronavirus outbreak so far.

Some 68 of the country's 77 provinces reported new infections Saturday. The capital Bangkok saw the most daily increase with 1,582 new cases, according to the Center for the COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

NEW DELHI -- India witnessed spikes both in daily confirmed COVID-19 cases and new deaths on Saturday, as 346,786 more infections and 2,624 deaths were reported, the government health ministry said.

Both figures are at historical high in the country.

NEW DELHI -- At least eight people were killed and six others rescued in critical condition after part of a glacier collapsed, triggering an avalanche in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand, officials said Saturday.

According to officials, 384 others, mostly belonging to India's Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), have been rescued safely.
