LIBREVILLE, May 1 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out Friday night in the Gabonese presidential palace in Libreville with no casualties reported, an official said on Saturday.

"Due to electrical fault, a fire broke out in the presidential palace last night. The fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters. There were no casualties or major damage," announced the presidential spokesman Jessye Ella Ekogha on Twitter.

This is the second fire reported in the palace. The last one took place in 2004 also due to an electrical fault, with no major damage. Enditem
