BEIRUT -- Lebanon and Israel resumed on Tuesday indirect negotiations to demarcate maritime borders in a fifth round sponsored by the United Nations with direct mediation by the United States, the National News Agency reported.

The negotiations took place in a meeting held at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters in Naqoura in southern Lebanon. (Lebanon-Israel-Border)

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi authorities on Tuesday decided to impose a 10-day full curfew to curb the spread of coronavirus, while the Ministry of Health reported 6,143 new COVID-19 cases.

A statement by his media office said that Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi chaired a cabinet meeting earlier in the day to discuss the recommendations of the Higher Committee for Health and National Safety about the development of the coronavirus pandemic in the country. (Iraq-COVID19-Curfew)

ISTANBUL -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud discussed bilateral relations during a phone conversation, Turkey's presidential office said on Tuesday.

No details about the phone talk were disclosed by the office.

The relations between the two countries have been significantly strained after the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside Saudi Arabia's consulate in Istanbul in 2018. (Turkey-Saudi-Talk)

CAIRO -- Egypt has signed a deal with France to buy 30 Rafale fighter jets, a statement by the Egyptian Armed Forces said Tuesday.

"The deal would be financed through a loan to be re-paid over at least 10 years," the statement said, without disclosing the value of the deal. (Egypt-France-Jets) Enditem
