TUNIS -- A unit of the Tunisian Maritime Guard has rescued 38 illegal immigrants of different African nationalities off the coastal city of Sfax in southeastern Tunisia, according to a statement released by the Defense Ministry on Wednesday.

"The rescue operation took place this afternoon, when a unit of the naval guard managed to rescue the illegal immigrants from a sinking boat sailing to the Italian coasts," said the statement. (Tunisia-Illegal Immigrants)

UNITED NATIONS -- China's permanent representative to the United Nations Zhang Jun, who is also president of the Security Council for the month of May, pledged on Wednesday that the Council will do a good job to fulfill its mandate.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Facebook Oversight Board (FOB) said on Wednesday that it has voted against reinstating former U.S. president Donald Trump's Facebook account.

MOSCOW -- The Russian government said Wednesday it has approved a bill on the country's withdrawal from the arms-control Treaty on Open Skies and will submit the document to President Vladimir Putin.

As the legal procedure requires, Putin will then submit the bill to the parliament for deliberation and approval, and finally sign it into law, officially terminating Russia's participation in the treaty. (Russia-Open Skies Treaty) Enditem
