HANOI, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam imported over 2.4 million tons of plastic worth more than 3.8 billion U.S. dollars in the first four months of this year, posting a year-on-year rise of 14.9 percent in volume and 39.4 percent in value, according to its General Statistics Office on Thursday.
From January to April, the country also spent nearly 2.6 billion U.S. dollars importing plastic products, up 15.4 percent from the same period last year, according to the office.
In 2020, Vietnam imported over 6.6 million tons of plastic totaling more than 8.3 billion U.S. dollars, up 3.5 percent and down 7.7 percent respectively from the previous year. Its largest suppliers of plastic and plastic products included China, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and the United States, showed official data. Enditem
