Singapore reports 28 new COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 28 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total tally to 61,359.

Of the new cases, 18 are imported cases and 10 are community cases.

On Sunday, 21 more COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities, bringing the total number of recoveries from the coronavirus epidemic to 60,933, the ministry said.

There are currently 133 active cases being treated in hospitals. Of them, two patients are in critical condition and held in the intensive care unit.

Furthermore, 262 cases are being isolated and cared for at community facilities. They are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

The total number of COVID-19 related deaths stands currently at 31 in the Asian country. Enditem
