Brunei reports 1 new imported COVID-19 case, 231 cases in total

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported one new confirmed case of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the national tally to 231.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, the new case is a 46-year-old man who arrived in the country from Manila on April 28. He has no symptoms of infection. Investigation and contact tracing have confirmed no close contacts for this case, as he was quarantined upon arrival in the country.

The new case is being treated and monitored at the National Isolation Center with the other seven active cases, who are all in a stable condition.

With the detection of this case, a total of 90 imported cases have been confirmed since the last local infection case on May 6, 2020. Brunei has recorded 371 days without local COVID-19 infection cases.

There have been three deaths from COVID-19 and 220 recovered patients so far in Brunei. Enditem
